A major change is coming to Ocean City High School’s football program. After 14 seasons at the helm, Coach Kevin Smith has officially stepped down as head coach of the Red Raiders.
The news broke when Coach Smith announced his resignation on Instagram, marking the end of an impressive tenure. During his time leading the program, Smith guided the Raiders to 72 victories—the second-most in school history—along with trips to two South Jersey title games. Coach Smith built this program into one of the best in South Jersey. His leadership, dedication, and passion for the game have left a lasting impact on Ocean City football.
With Smith stepping down, longtime assistant coach Sean Matthews has been named the new head coach. Matthews, who has been a key part of the team’s success in recent years, will now take over and lead the program into the next chapter.
