Many kids like to go to the school store, located in room G101 across the cafeteria, usually to buy some snacks, drinks, school merchandise, or even occasionally to get some school supplies, all at a reasonable price. They even sell school merch online! Their stock is delivered by Canada Dry and Zucca Delivery, and their profits go into a program for the workers. Speaking of the workers, not many people know what actually goes on in the school store. There’s a lot of hard work put into running the store, but sadly most students don’t recognize it. The school store started on September 13, 2013 as a new program for the students. They wanted a permanent fundraiser for trips and projects, and as a work opportunity for the workers. Freshman through senior year the school store exists as a work opportunity, and three years after graduation, they can actually stay at the school for community service opportunities, helping them get a job in the real world. To conclude, the school store has a lot more to it than most people realize. So next time you go there to buy some Pop-Tarts, make sure to thank the people there.
