Have you ever received a gift and thought: “What were they thinking?”, “Where did they even get this from?”, or just plain out “why?”? The Current OC is here to help you stay away from giving gifts that are somewhat questionable. We strongly recommend you take this advice when it comes to picking out your gifts this holiday season. Here are some gift options you should consider avoiding.
Ugly sweaters, gift cards, candy coal, SAT books, fruit cake are all key gifts that should never be given, even during the season of giving. We went about OCHS asking just which bad gift ideas had reached our students. Junior, Sam Palombo, said that “A five dollar Hollister Gift card” was the worst gift he could think of, while Senior, Cliff Morin, explained that he had once been given footie pajamas. Use your common sense when picking out gifts; would you want to receive the gift that you’re about to give?
If you avoid these gifts this holiday season, you will be sure not to disappoint all of your friends and family. So don’t be a disappointment. This has been Sean Bowman, Peter Anderson, Tyler Caroll, and Eli Guseman reporting for the Current OC.
