This Saturday at 3:00 p.m., one of the greatest athletic and national traditions will take place just down the expressway at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, the Army – Navy football game. The Army – Navy game is an American college football rivalry between the teams of the United States Military Academy form West Point, New York and the United States Naval Academy from Annapolis, Maryland. The game is one of college football’s longest running and most historic rivalries, and as featured on the website dedicated solely to the game and its history (http://armynavygame.com/), this year’s matchup looks to uphold all the intensity and history of the rivalry.

The first meeting between the Cadets and the Midshipmen was in 1890. Navy won 24-0. The teams have met 112 times before, with Navy winning the most recent contest in 2011 by a score of 27-21. Navy now leads the all-time series with a record of 56 wins, 49 losses, and 7 ties.
