It is normal in our society to believe that Cheerleading isn’t and shouldn’t be considered a sport. Contrary to popular belief it most certainly is. According to the Webster dictionary the definition of a Sport is: “an activity involving physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team competes against another for entertainment.” To be a cheerleader one must be able to dance, stunt, tumble and memorize dozens of chants and cheers. Cheerleading is a sport that takes extensive exertion on one’s physical and mental strength. Sure sounds like a sport to me.
