When you think of Thanksgiving you think food, football and shopping. What happened to spending the day with your family and friends instead of with the TV? We believed that due to Christmas being promoted sooner and sooner that people aren’t looking forward to celebrating Thanksgiving as much as they are for Black Friday deals. Everyone thought that over the years, the true meaning of Thanksgiving has been forgotten … or has it?
In several interviews with our band members, cheerleaders and football players, we asked how their family Thanksgiving traditions have been altered by the annual Thanksgiving game. They explained that it added more to their traditions, rather than taken away from it. They see their teammates as their second family, and enjoy spending their annual Thursday mornings surrounded by them.
